Frequently Asked Questions
Is Chemwash just water blasting with a different name?
Nope. We don’t use high pressure water blasting at all. Our Chemwash system uses controlled low pressure, with specialised, biodegradable detergents to gently lift off mould, grime, lichen and all the usual build-up. That means no patchy cleans, no stripped paint, no damaged cladding, and no water forced in where it shouldn’t be.
How much will it cost to wash my house?
Every home is different, so we don’t make guesses. Instead, we offer quick, free, no-obligation quotes tailored to your property. You’ll know the exact price before we start. No surprises, and no hidden extras. Whether you have a multi-storey house or something a bit simpler, you’ll get the right price for your place.
Are the products you use safe?
Yep, absolutely. Our detergents are designed to be completely safe around people, pets and the environment. We’ve been washing family homes around Rotorua for 30 odd years, so you’ve got nothing to worry about. If you do have animals, we normally just recommend keeping them inside while we’re working so they don’t cause any disruption.
My place is really dirty… can you still make it look good?
Too easy. We clean plenty of homes that haven’t been touched in years. We deal with mould, pollen, cobwebs, lichen, and build-up every day, so we know how to handle it. It’s actually pretty common for neighbours to book in with us after seeing the results next door.
How long will the clean last?
Most homes stay looking great for around a year after a house wash. It can vary depending on nearby trees and local conditions, but we’re always happy to give tailored advice. Adding an exterior spider treatment also helps slow down cobweb build-up, so everything stays cleaner for longer.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Nope. As long as we’ve got access to an outdoor water supply and the exterior is ready to go, we can take care of everything while you’re out. We’ll confirm the day and time, and you can come home to a freshly washed place. If you prefer to be at home while we work, that’s fine too! We’ll knock on the door to say hello when we arrive.
Is it really worth paying someone when I could just DIY it?
The reality is that DIY water blasting often leads to uneven results, stripped surfaces, or water pushed in behind cladding. Plus, the results of the clean don’t tend to last as long. Our specialised low-pressure process avoids all of that. It’s quicker, safer, and gives you a much more consistent finish.
If you’re still not sure, remember that getting a quote won’t cost a cent. There’s no pressure at all (pun intended).
